Best Time to Visit Xiamen Gulangyu

Xiamen Gulangyu

Known as the “Garden on the Sea,” Gulangyu shimmers like a bright “pearl on the sea” amid the blue waters. In 2017, it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site – China’s 52nd. The island is also celebrated as the “Island of Piano” and the “Museum of International Architecture.” From 19th-century European-style consulates to traditional Minnan-style mansions, a stunning variety of buildings come together here. With no motor vehicles or factories on the island, strolling along ivy-covered red brick walls and shaded seaside paths, you’ll feel a relaxed, artistic romance at every turn.
